In order to level up, certain criteria must be crossed by the referees. Here is a brief summary for each level.
Soccer at 7
- Be at least 14 years old during the year
- Having completed a training course recognized by the Federation of Quebec
Juvenile
- Be at least 14 years old during the year
- Have completed a training course recognized by the Quebec Soccer Federation
District
- Be at least 16 years old
- Have completed a training course recognized by the Quebec Soccer Federation
Regional
- Having completed one year as a District Referee
- Have completed a promotional course recognized by the Quebec Soccer Federation
- Get a minimum score of 80% on the exam
- Pass 3 fitness tests
- Pass 3 evaluations with a minimum score of 80%
Provincial
- Having completed one year as a "Regional" referee
- Have completed a promotional course recognized by the Quebec Soccer Federation
- Get a minimum score of 85% on the exam
- Pass 3 fitness tests
- Pass 3 evaluations with a minimum score of 85%
National
The National nominated arbitrator has two years to pass all these criteria:
- Have completed a national level internship recognized by the ACS
- Get a minimum score of 85% on the exam
- Pass 3 fitness tests
International (FIFA)
- Be recommended by the directors of the National Arbitration Committee
- Have completed at least 2 years as National Referee
- Pass 3 fitness tests
- Complete 3 evaluations with a minimum score of 90% in high-level matches
