The ASB Adaptive Soccer Program for Persons with Disabilities is designed for children aged 4 years and older with an autism spectrum disorder or an intellectual disability. The soccer classes are led by a coach and qualified counsellors and take the form of workshops and learning clinics.
These workshops are adapted according to the participant’s level of abilities and skills. Our intervention philosophy for adapted soccer encourages the parent to get involved in the activity with their child. In fact, a parent (or parent figure) is required to accompany the participant and acts as an assistant coach. In addition, a routine as well as psycho-educational approaches are put in place to facilitate adaptation and evolution through the program.
For people aged 4 years and older.
